Temporary Councillors Stand Down

The three councillors appointed to Desborough Town Council to ensure that the council was quorate have resigned. Cllrs Gordon Shorley, Claire Tilley and Lesley Sambrook Smith resigned on 18 April 2018.

The council meeting that was scheduled for this evening, 19 April 2018, was cancelled yesterday afternoon when it became clear that two councillors were not available (one due to work commitments and one due to sickness). It looks unlikely that a date can be found for another council meeting before the elections in a fortnight, so the temporary councillors have stood down.

Desborough Town Council would like to thank the three appointed councillors for their efforts over the past five weeks, which helped the council to keep operating in the run up to the election.

Cllr Eamon Gilbey and Cllr Gil Holmes remain councillors at Desborough Town Council. The election for ten new councillors to make up the twelve-seat council takes place on Thursday 3 May 2018 and the result should be known by the end of Friday 4 May 2018. Details will appear on this web site.
